Project Management Software for Plant Projects
Project management for technical projects inside an operating plant or terminal. Small modifications and larger investment projects, in one shared place and on the same schedule as the maintenance work.
WHAT IT IS
One shared place for the projects on your site.
Project Management is a GUSTY module for technical projects within an operating plant, terminal or other industrial facility. It covers sustaining CAPEX and OPEX projects, from smaller modifications to larger investments. Whether a project is CAPEX or OPEX is your decision.
Most project coordinators and engineers can run a single project well enough in Excel, MS Project and their own notes. The problem is what happens around it. Information sits in personal files. A colleague who takes over cannot see the status, the open decisions or what was agreed with the contractor. Management has no consistent view of progress and cost changes. And the project schedule is not visible next to the maintenance work on the same assets.
GUSTY keeps that information in one place, without asking for more administration than the project needs.
HOW IT WORKS
Five things that change once projects run in GUSTY.
-
Each project at the level of detail it needs
Follow a project on phases and milestones, or go down to activities where the work requires it. The schedule is meant to stay as easy to work with as an Excel or MS Project schedule.
-
Projects and maintenance on one schedule
Project activities and maintenance work, including preventive maintenance, are shown together. Colours show where the work comes from. You see what is planned on an asset or across the site over the year, not the project in isolation.
-
Budget, actuals and forecast at completion
Budgets or estimates, actual costs and forecast at completion per project. Financial information can come from other systems instead of being entered twice. When costs change, you can see it and find out why.
-
Events recorded when they happen
Extra work, waiting hours and other events are added as a simple record against the milestone or activity: what happened, the hours, the expected extra cost, and whether it was agreed or is still disputed. It keeps the facts from the progress meeting, and helps when checking contractor invoices later.
-
Managers see where attention is needed
Managers have an overview of their team's projects: changes in progress, planned dates that moved and expected costs that changed. They open the project when they need the detail, instead of asking for a separate report.
WHAT YOU SEE
Six views across the project flow.
-
Phases, milestones and activities
One project structure that can be followed at a high level or in detail, with owner, dates and progress per line.
-
Budget, commitments and forecast
Approved budget, committed, received, open and forecast at completion, broken down by work package and order.
-
Extra work, waiting hours and events
Each event with what happened, who was involved, the cost, and whether it was agreed. Lessons learned can be noted with it.
-
Changes since the last review
Per project manager, what happened since the last review: dates passed, key dates moved, extra work not yet agreed, forecasts over budget, projects without a schedule.
-
All projects on one Gantt
The portfolio by phase, and key dates such as RFO against their baseline.
-
Projects next to maintenance
PM plans, CAPEX projects and major tank maintenance on one schedule per piece of equipment.
HOW YOU START
How implementation begins.
- Talk to us about your projects, how they are tracked today and which systems hold the project and financial data.
- We connect the information that already exists, such as projects in another system and financial data, so it does not have to be entered twice.
- Phases, milestones and the level of detail are set up to match the way your projects run.
